4 simple & healthy desk breakfasts for busy mornings

7th June 2016

When weekday mornings are frantic, eating breakfast at your desk doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice health and taste.

A nutritious breakfast can give you the energy you need to be productive at work, so here are four simple and satisfying options to help get your day off to a good start:

1. Overnight Oats

Nutritious breakfasts don’t get much easier than overnight oats. Just a few ingredients and a couple of minutes the night before is all it takes to wake up to this tasty and portable brekkie. There are loads of different recipes to try, but we particularly like this one for strawberry overnight oats from A Pumpkin and A Princess.

2. Breakfast Smoothies

Super easy and quick to make, smoothies can be a great healthy alternative to breakfast when you don’t have time to spare. Just throw all your ingredients into a blender and you’re good to go. Check out the below video from the The Domestic Geek for healthy breakfast smoothie inspiration.

3. Homemade Cereal Bars

If you’re always on the go, cereal bars seriously help simply life. The problem with the store-bought bars, however, is they are often lacking in nutrients and packed with excess sugar. Instead, try whipping up a batch of your own no-bake superfood granola bars so you know exactly what’s inside. Recipe and image via Domestic Gothess.

4. Egg Muffins

Packed with protein and low in carbs, egg muffins can be a simple and tasty breakfast that will help keep you satisfied all morning. Make a big batch for the week ahead then store in the fridge ready to reheat in the morning. Recipe and image via Multiply Delicious.
